Queen Elizabeth I in The Lost Colony 2013!

It is with extreme excitement and equal humility that I announce that I have accepted the role of Queen Elizabeth I in this summer’s production of The Lost Colony in Manteo, North Carolina!

When I think of all the incredible actors who have played Elizabeth in this show alone, I am extremely honored and humbled to follow so many amazing women.

I’m excited to join in this institution of Musical Theatre history as well as North Carolinian and American History story telling.

I hope you can all come out and see it. It’s going to be an amazing 76th year at the Outer Banks!

The Marowitz Hamlet present by hiSTORYstage

The Marowitz Hamlet: “Charles Marowitz, an acclaimed stage director, theatre critic, columnist, author, and playwright, has deconstructed Hamlet, breaking it into pieces and remixing it for the postmodern age. A thoroughly modern take on the plot of Hamlet which uses Shakespeare’s original words as the action plays out as seen through the prism of the central character’s mentally besieged consciousness.

This ‘collage’ as Marowitz terms it, unfolds in a steam of consciousness fashion, as characters appear and disappear from the stage at random as Hamlet conjures up his memories and imaginings of them. This new version severely shortens the play from the original four hours, but leaves the plot complete.”
