Little Women in the Village Soup!

BROOKS — Marsh River Theater presents a stage adaptation of Louise May Alcott’s beloved “Little Women” Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., Aug. 25 through 18, at the downtown venue, 24 Monroe Highway/Route 139.

Under the guidance of their beloved mother, the four young March sisters — tempestuous Jo, motherly Meg, shy Beth and spoiled baby Amy — struggle to keep their family going while their father is away in the Civil War. In this beautifully dramatized adaptation of the classic novel, even as privation, illness, and sibling rivalry cast their shadows, each girl strives to find her true self.

The Marsh River Theater production stars Diana McQueen of Waterville as Jo March, Jenifer Turnbull as Meg, Kristina Carter as Beth, Izzy Labee as Amy, Mert Dana as Laurie and Nan Simpson as Marmee.

General admission tickets may be bought at the door at $10, $8 for senior citizens and children younger than 13. For more information, call 722-4110. Visit the Marsh River Theater Website.
